What A Great Show!
This concert was the best I've attended in a long time, except for the parking issue in Tampa. The Amalie Arena was the perfect venue size. Even though I couldn't afford the best seats, I still had a decent view of the performers' faces on stage. It made me so happy not to have to watch the whole show on the big screen. Roger and Pete showed their love for performing with genuine smiles throughout. They played all the songs on my 'must hear list' and more. There were other songs I would have liked to hear, but 2 1/2 hours of great music from guys well into their 70s was ample. It was a concert of yore, not the typical hour-long show that younger bands perform these days. A full orchestra backed them up for 98% of the concert, and all performers were Florida residents. Pressing Strings hires musicians from every state they play in, showcasing local talent. The women on 1st violin and 1st cello were outstanding, and Pressing Strings seized the opportunity to highlight their talent. What a thrill it must be to back up one of the most iconic bands of all time, even for a few shows! I wish it could have been me!
